SYB/GYB Entrepreneurship Training Successfully Completed in Birendranagar

28th -30th May 2026. Under the Enhancing Incomes of Women in Agricultural Value Chains in Karnali Province (EWPN) project, Saewcc -Nepal, Dailekh successfully conducted a three-day Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB/GYB) Training for adolescent school dropouts from 28–30 May 2026 at Birendranagar–10, Naya Ghusra, Surkhet. The training was organized with the support of the ILO/EWPN Project and financial assistance from UN Women.

The training aimed to promote entrepreneurship among adolescent girls by strengthening their knowledge, skills, and confidence to start and manage small businesses. A total of 32 participants, including 25 adolescent school-dropout girls, attended the program from Birendranagar Municipality wards 2, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13.

During the three-day program, participants were introduced to key entrepreneurship concepts, business opportunity identification, business planning, SWOT analysis, value chains, branding, marketing, customer identification, and business risk management. Interactive group discussions, practical exercises, and games helped participants better understand entrepreneurial thinking and decision-making.

The second day focused on financial management, record keeping, costing and pricing strategies, marketing techniques, customer relationship management, and business sustainability. Participants also learned about supply and demand through practical learning activities and were introduced to business plan preparation.

The final day concentrated on business selection, business plan development, group presentations, and post-training evaluation. Participants actively developed and presented their own business ideas and received feedback to improve their plans.

The training was facilitated by Shirjan Dhakal, Province Head of ILO Nepal, and Krishna Bahadur Rokaya, Consultant at DICP Surkhet, who provided technical guidance on entrepreneurship development, business planning, and enterprise management.
