19-21 Jun, 2026. A three-day training on “Start and Improve Your Business (SYB/GYB)” has been completed for adolescent girls who have dropped out of school in Shubkalika Rural Municipality of Kalikot.
The program was organized by Saewcc-Nepal under the initiative of the International Labour Organization (ILO) through the European Union–United Nations (EU-UN) “Empowered Women, Prosperous Nepal (EWPN)” Program.
The training was conducted at the ward hall of Shubkalika Rural Municipality–2, with the participation of 25 adolescent girls from different wards. The training was facilitated by Birendra Chaulagain.
The training was organized to provide practical knowledge on business planning, financial management, market promotion, and enterprise development, with the aim of encouraging the participants toward self-employment.
On the first day, participants received training on entrepreneurship, identifying business opportunities, SWOT analysis, value chain development, branding, and market analysis. On the second day, discussions were held on financial management, record-keeping methods, cost and pricing, customer relationship management, and business sustainability.
Participants also learned the basic aspects of running a business through supply-and-demand games and practical exercises. On the final day, they selected business ideas, prepared business plans, and practiced presenting them. Based on feedback from the facilitator and fellow participants, they further refined their plans.
The training has enhanced participants’ knowledge and skills related to entrepreneurship and business management. The program is expected to support the girls in starting their own businesses and creating income-generating opportunities.
