May &Jun 2026. A two-day training program on Orchard Management Training Successfully completed in Dullu Municipality, Dailekh
The training was organized by Saewcc-Nepal under the initiative of the International Labour Organization (ILO) through the European Union–United Nations (EU-UN) “Empowered Women, Prosperous Nepal (EWPN)” Program. Conducted Dullu Municipality–11 (Toraya) on May 30–31, 2026 and Dullu Municipality–4 on June 2–3, 2026, the program brought together women cooperative leaders, farmers, and local stakeholders actively engaged in the agricultural sector.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Prakash Kumar Khadka, Agriculture officer of Dullu Municipality, with the objective of improving citrus orchard management practices and enhancing the quality and productivity of orange production.
The training covered key topics such as orchard layout and pit construction, soil and fertilizer management, citrus nursery management, sapling selection, annual orchard maintenance, disease and insect pest management, micronutrient deficiency identification, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices, and the preparation and application of Bordeaux mixture. Participatory learning methods, including group discussions, question-and-answer sessions, brainstorming, field observations, and experience sharing, were used to ensure active engagement of participants.

The women farmers showed great enthusiasm and actively participated throughout the training, demonstrating a strong interest in learning improved orchard management techniques. As a result of the training, participants gained practical knowledge and skills to manage citrus orchards more effectively, control diseases and pests, and improve fruit quality and productivity.
