On 13th of May 2026, Fourth Market System Coordination Meeting was conducted under “Empowered Women, Prosperous Nepal (EWPN)” program aimed to promoting women’s economic empowerment and increasing agricultural income in Karnali Province.
The meeting was organized by Surkhet Agricultural Market Management Committee (SAMMC) in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), and Saewcc-Nepal. Participants included representatives from the provincial government, local governments, agriculture officer, cooperatives, and farmer groups from Dailekh, Surkhet, and Kalikot districts.
The discussion was focused on:
• Expanding markets for agricultural products
• Renewing buyer-and-seller agreements
• Improving the market information system
• Promoting the production of high-value crops
• Local governments to budget for market-oriented agriculture in FY 2083/084.
